Series 5. - C:8/25/NP (A91-66)This Series contains administrative files (ca. 1972-1982) of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction relating to the Humanizing, Individualizing and Personalizing Education, HIP, program. This multi-year program was a cooperative program by the MU College of Education's Department of Curriculum and Instruction and the Columbia Public Schools. The purpose of the H.I.P. Alternative Teacher Education Program was to develop and implement \"a process of individualizing, personalizing, and humanizing learning by tailoring instructional approaches to individual differences rather than requiring all prospective teachers (enrolled in the MU's College of Education) to learn in the same way and at the same pace.\" This Series was created and received by Program Director and Professor Neila T. Pettit.
