Has your motorcycle been crashed or did it just fall over since it ranlastThere is a unit called sensor assembly, kill that appears to be underthe right hand side cover, or somewhere on the right side of themachine. It appears to be a re-settable tip over switch. If your leanangle exceeds 60 degrees, the tip-over switch will disable the ECU andshut off the engine and especially the injector pump. You don't want alot of gasoline spraying around after a crash, yannow...Go to www.partsfish.com and look at the fiche called \"Wire Harness 1\".It looks like there is a reset knob or button on that thingumbob.Smaller Hondas, like the CBR-600RR have their tipover switch in thefront fairing...Motorbikes have gotten ridiculously complicated in the last 20 years orso.Electronic gizmos everywhere to frustrate the rider with theirrecalcitrantbehavior...Any time the ignition key is ON, you should have power through thecoils, as you've noticed. Power comes through the ignition switch andfuze and kill switch to the coils. The ignition unit is the ground forthe coils. The ignition box will just have power transistors or siliconcontrol rectifiers that are switched ON when the ignition is ON, andthey get turned OFF when they get a signal from the pulser coil orcrank angle sensor. The transistors ground the coils and they work justlike ignition points, except they are solid state electronic devices. When one transistor or SCR is turned OFF, you get a spark from onecoil...But your engine control unit probably needs certain enabling signals toallow the engine to run, like it will have a logic circuit that allowsthe engine to start and run in neutral with the side stand down so youcan warm up the engine while putting your helmet and gloves on. But, ifyou put the transmission in gear while the sidestand is down, the logiccircuit will probably switch the ECU off and the engine will stoprunning...Typically the ECU will enable the fuel pump to run when it gets asignal from the pulser coil or crank angle sensor that the engine isrunning or being cranked by the starter. The ECU will need an injector timing signal before it gets a sparktiming, so you may have pulser coils as well as crank angle or camsensors...
Did you find the tip over switch on the right hand side of themotorbike>From the \"wire harness 1\" fiche at www.partsfish.com I can see whatlooks like a reset button. I suppose you just push it toward the backof the motorbike, but I can't tell. Maybe you have to push it with thekey turned on so the chip in the ICU remembers to be enabledIf you know a mechanic at a Honda $tealer$hip, and he's a nice guy, hemight just tell you how to reset the switch, but he's in the sameposition as a lawyer giving free legal advice, most lawyers don't wantto do that...You might want to do a google search for the tip over switch and seewhat the guys in the CBR-929RR forums have to say about resetting theswitch or bypassing it. I don't have a CBR-929RR or a wiring diagram, and I can't tell whether you want to jumper the wires or justdisconnect them. It's the same deal on the side stand switch, some sidestand switchesmake contact when the stand is down, so the way to disable the switchis to disconnect it. But on my Kawasaki, the side stand switch madecontact when the sidestand was up, so I had to make a jumper wire to goacross the wire harness connector...You could trying working the side stand up and down and wiggling thepush button on the side stand switch while pushing the starter buttonto see if the engine acts like it's going to start...
