I hope you enjoyed the review and feel free to post your own thoughts and theories on The Aviary (2022) in the comments section below. Thanks so much for reading and happy viewing!
Tracy Aviary is one of our favorite places in the Salt Lake Valley. Though we normally enjoy the bird show at the Aviary, this Christmas (2022) the aviary has added a light show. Tracy Aviary has partnered with Light Walk SLC to create a fun light display. The show runs from Thanksgiving through Christmas and allows you to walk through the grounds while checking out the all the beautiful Christmas lights.
This was the route we took through the lights, but obviously you can enjoy the lights in any direction. The aviary is stroller and wheel-friendly. Visit Light Walk SLC for current prices and hours. They do have a deal where if you bring in a food bank donation, you can save $5 off your tickets. This deal works Monday-Thursday. Read more about the deal here. The critically endangered bird faces several pressures in the wild that have led to population declines in recent decades and the aviary said they only produce one egg every 12 to 18 months, adding to the conservation challenges.
When visiting our Australia Exhibit, be sure to come out and experience our free flight aviary. Immerse yourself in the Australian outback as budgerigars fly around you. In the wild, budgerigars live throughout the drier parts of Australia where the species has survived harsh inland conditions for the last five million years.
The aviary closed earlier this year, on Jan. 24 due to recent threats from the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza. The HPAI virus is a highly contagious disease that can affect several species of birds. None of the zoo's birds have tested positive for the virus, the release said.
At that point, the aquarium developed a plan of actions they would take as the flu cases drew closer to Oregon. When the bird flu reached nearby states, the aquarium started putting foot baths (mats filled with sanitizing liquid) at the entrance and exit of the aviary. When the virus was first detected in backyard birds in Linn County on May 5, the aquarium closed its aviary to the public that same day. 59ce067264
